Strategies for Reading in Mathematics
I am doing literacy workshops for all content area teachers. There are not many strategy books out there. I did find a McRel Book called Teaching Reading in Mathematics. We found some really good strategies there.
I am also interested in clear strategies to help kids summarize what they are reading, especially short pieces of text.

Louisa Moats and Dick Allington
I am interested in responses to Louisa Moat's article on titled Whole Language High Jinx, and Richard Allington's response to same.
Reading and Math
In a couple of weeks I will be facilitating workshops for middle school math teachers who are trying to help their students access difficult math texts. I have been researching resources, but find little available. We do have Doug Buehl's Classroom Strategies for Interactive Learning.
I would be interested in ways math and reading teachers model their thinking to help students access the math textbook at the middle school level
